Transfer 101 - Planning and Exploring

Students should complete Transfer 101 before attending Transfer 102. (Recommended for students with 0-30 credits) This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring: Planning and Exploring. Students will receive an overview of statewide transfer programs and incentives, how to transfer credits, searching for colleges, and other resources to clarify the transfer process. Recommended for students who are learning about transferring for the first time. It's never too early to begin thinking about transfer!

Do you have questions about transferring? Talking Transfer is a drop-in session for students who need to ask questions about their process. All new and continuing students are welcome to register ahead to meet with a member of the transfer team. The session will be an open forum for students to communicate in a group setting with a transfer advisor as opposed to one-on-one.

(Recommended for students with 30-60 credits and who have attended the Transfer 101 Workshop) Are you getting close to graduating? This workshop will focus on the final two stages of transferring: Applying and Deciding. Topics that will be covered include: applying to four-year colleges and making informed decisions on which colleges to attend, requesting letters of recommendations, writing your transfer essays, and using the Common Application.

Virtual college information sessions are events that allow prospective students to meet with Transfer Advisors and Admissions Counselors from Bunker Hill. During these one-hour sessions, students learn about each of the academic pathways, student engagement opportunities, and the process for applying and transferring into BHCC. BHCC will be open Tuesday, July 18 and 23, 2 p.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays August 5, 12, 19, 26, and September 9, from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to offer services - in-person and virtually - for new and returning students.

Visit us to:

  • Apply for admission and drop off documentation (transcripts, etc.)
  • Speak to Admissions staff for help choosing your educational pathway
  • Apply for financial aid and get your billing and tuition payment questions answered
  • Get help completing your testing requirements the same day
  • Meet with an advisor to plan and register for classes - register early to get the classes you want at the times that best fit your schedule
  • Learn about the special programs, services and opportunities we provide
