Professional Studies

Welcome to the Division of Professional Studies. We offer professional programs in eight departments to prepare students for work and transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students in the Division learn from current and retired practitioners in each field to ensure class information meets the needs of evolving industries.

In the Business Administration Department, students learn from accounting, finance, and marketing practitioners as well as small business owners, CFOs, and non-profit managers.

Faculty in the Computer Information Technology and Computer Media Technology Departments work or have worked in information security, IT help desks, engineering, and game development and design and support students in learning high demand skills needed in the workforce.

Students in the Education Department learn from experienced educators and administrators with experience teaching ages birth to adults.

Faculty in the Hospitality Department use their experience working and managing restaurants, travel agencies, and hotels to teach hands-on skills to support growth in the field.

In the Visual Media Arts Department, students learn from working artists in multiple media (paint, drawing, 3D, film, animation, etc.) to hone their techniques and develop their creativity.

Attorneys teaching in the Paralegal and Legal Studies Department bring their experience with family, criminal, and corporate law into their classes when preparing students to work at paralegals in a variety of fields.

Students in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Department learn from current and retired public servants in areas of fire services, courts, corrections, and policing and public safety.

In addition to taking classes from experienced faculty, programs in the Division of Professional Studies offer internship and practicum opportunities so students can build experience in their desired fields. The Internships and Career Development area provides a wide range of internship opportunities for students.
