Re-presenting Boston Chinatown as a Place of People–Then and Now

A multi-media exhibit that explores the streets and public spaces of one of Boston's most dynamic and historic neighborhoods. July 29 - September 27 Wen-ti Tsen is a painter and public artist. He was born in China and grew up in Europe before coming to the U.S. to study painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Since the mid-1970s, after living and traveling for several years in different countries, he has been engaged in making art that explores cultural connections: with personal paintings and installations, large-scale public art sculptures and working with communities to express social issues in various art forms.

This workshop will provide the essentials of optimizing and maximizing LinkedIn's fullest potential. Students will gain a better understanding of its features such as; creating a polished, professional profile, establishing an online presence and personal brand, adjusting the settings and privacy modes, and managing the platform to achieve objectives. This workshop will dive into utilizing LinkedIn for company research, analyzing industry trends, searching for jobs and internships, and joining professional groups.

This information session will serve as both an introduction to the cannabis industry and as a preview for a 2-day Cannabis Career Training workshop that is planned for October 21-22, 2019 (see below). Workshop topics will include: An overview of the marijuana industry and the issues it faces, both today and in the future An analysis of current regulations in Massachusetts for medical and adult-use licenses Considerations for participating in the industry (including the careers available and the requirements for each position) Personal skills and attributes required for success The unique challenges faced by an owner/operator in the industry This workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Criminal Justice Reform Advocate and Founder of Prosecutor Impact Adam J. Foss is a former Assistant District Attorney in the Juvenile Division of the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in Boston, and a fierce advocate for criminal justice reform, with a particular emphasis on redefining the role of the prosecutor to help end mass incarceration. To further these ends, Foss founded Prosecutor Impact, a non-profit that develops training and curriculum for prosecutors to reframe their role in the criminal justice system, and maintains an active speaking and lecture schedule.
