How do I sign up to place an order with the DISH Food Pantry?

How many times can I order from the DISH Food Pantry each month?
You may place up to 2 orders per month at the DISH Food Pantry. Please try to make each order at least 5-6 items. You may also use all of your points in one order.
Does the DISH Food Pantry deliver items?
Unfortunately our delivery system has been discontinued effective September 2022. If you are unable to come to campus to pick-up your order, please contact dish@bhcc.edu.
I have a large family at home. Am I able to get more points per month?
If you and your family are in need of additional points, please contact the DISH Food Pantry at 857-262-1412 or email dish@bhcc.edu for assistance. Each request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Are there employment opportunities in the DISH Food Pantry?

What items can I get with my points?
On Smart Choice, we offer a variety of non-perishable items, fresh refrigerated and frozen products, and hygiene items. Each item’s point value is based upon serving size and quantity of items available. Your points stretch far—most items are between 1-3 points and will last you for a while!
Can you help me apply for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps)?
While we do have information in the DISH about SNAP, please visit the Single Stop Office at singlestop@bhcc.edu for assistance with filling out the application.
How many points do I have per month?
Current BHCC students receive 35 points per month, and faculty/staff receive 30 points per month. These points will automatically be loaded onto your Smart Choice account on the first day of each month
- Please note that these points do not rollover. For example, if you do not use your points for one month, they will not carry over to the next month
Why was my application to use the DISH denied?
- The DISH Food Pantry serves solely current students, staff, and faculty at Bunker Hill Community College. Alumni, unenrolled students, or family/friends of a current student are not eligible to register to use the DISH

How often can I order diapers or other baby items?
On Smart Choice, our online ordering platform, we have monthly limits set on most items, including baby items. DISH shoppers are limited to 1 box of diapers (between 80-150 diapers per box) or 2 sleeves of pull-ups (40-50 pull-ups), and 1 container of baby wipes per month. Baby food is limited to 3 containers of each type/flavor, depending on availability.
Why are diapers often not available online?
At the DISH, we have specific allocated funding from a grant that covers all baby item purchases. With this funding, we are only able to purchase 50-60 boxes of diapers per month, and we have many students and staff members who are parents and who need diapers. We recommend checking our inventory frequently for the size that you need.
How often do more diapers and other baby items become available to order?
We place an order for diapers and an order for baby food/ baby snacks once per week. They usually become available to order online each Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.
Size 1 diapers are available online, but size 6 diapers are not. Can I order size 1 diapers and ask to switch the sizes?
Unfortunately, we cannot switch diaper sizes or substitute any other items. Our online inventory is accurate, meaning what you see online is what is currently available. If you order the wrong size, we can take the diapers back and refund the points. However, we recommend that you check Smart Choice frequently for the size that you need and order the correct size when it is available.
