The purpose of this group is to acquire and practice standardized American English, while at the same time learning how to navigate life at the College as an English Language Learner and/or immigrant. We will talk about the best language learning methods, along with strategies for dealing with coursework, professors, classmates, registration, transfer and career planning, financial issues, and much more. We discuss many of the challenges of life at the College, as well the ways to take advantage of the many opportunities that exist at Bunker Hill as well. The group is open to all students.

TOEFL Study Groups

VIRTUAL Transfer Application Session
Are you about to graduate? Working on transfer applications? Join our Transfer Application Session!
This workshop is designed to assist students in completing their four-year college applications. Facilitators will overview the entire application process, ensuring students have a clear understanding of the requirements and steps involved. Students may use this time to complete the Common Application or other college applications, write their transfer essay, collect application materials, and have individual concerns addressed.

Transfer 101 - Prepare and Explore
(Recommended for students with 0-30 credits)
This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring: Preparing and Exploring. Students will receive an overview of statewide transfer programs and incentives, how to transfer credits, searching for colleges, and other resources to clarify the transfer process.
Recommended for students who are learning about transferring for the first time. Its never too early to begin thinking about transfer!

Entering STEM Professions can be challenging. Join us for a free workshop to learn techniques and hacks to advance your education and launching your career in STEM specific fields.
This workshop will help you learn to leverage resources, mentoring, and research programs to build a successful STEM career. Topics include how to utilize BHCC Internship and Career Development resources, employer events, STEM research opportunities, networking, and informational interviews. All topics are tailored to the uniquely to STEM careers.
Our workshop will be led by Suman Mukherjee, BHCC STEM Coordinator, and Teresa Lefebvre, BHCC Director of Internships and Career Development. To prepare for the workshop, students should log into Handshake to activate and complete their BHCC student profile.
