BHCC’s Foundations of IT Support program is designed for you! This flexible hybrid program fits into your busy schedule and was co-designed with adult learners in mind. It has been validated by local employers and industry experts in the field of IT support.
The course is delivered mostly online, with two in-person bootcamps focused on study support and exam preparation.
By the end of the program, you’ll be prepared to earn industry-recognized certifications required for IT Support Specialist roles — a profession with a median wage of $57,910 ($27.84/hour) in the Greater Boston area.

This course is ideal for entry-level computer technicians or individuals looking to start a new career in the IT industry. It prepares students to take the CompTIA A+ certification exams, which are widely recognized as the industry standard for launching careers in today’s digital world. CompTIA A+ certified professionals are proven problem solvers who support a wide range of core technologies, including security, networking, and virtualization. Students will be enrolled in Version 15, the most recent version of the course, fully updated to align with the current CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams.

The course also includes content related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), reflecting the evolving demands of the IT industry.
To succeed in this course, students should have a basic understanding of computers, a curiosity to learn, and a problem-solving mindset. The course provides the foundational knowledge needed to take both Core 1 and Core 2 exams. Test vouchers for both exams are included, and students are expected to sit for the exams within one month of completing the course.
Please note: To earn the CompTIA A+ certification, students must pass both the Core 1 and Core 2 exams.
