BHCC’s Hospitality Department Relaunches Baking and Pastry Certificate
Friday, April 25, 2025
On April 23, BHCC faculty and staff gathered in the fourth-floor bake shop of the newly renovated E-Building for an engaging baking demonstration hosted by the Hospitality Department. After several years of inactivity, the department is pleased to announce the relaunch of the Baking and Pastry Certificate. The revised program features industry-aligned coursework designed to support students' skill development in entry-level baking and pastry fields.
Guests got a firsthand look at the high-tech instructional kitchen where students will learn the art of cakes, doughs, and plated desserts. Leading the demonstration was Chef Ramzy Asmar, whose passion and talent were evident in every detail of the presentation.
“This space is more than just a kitchen—it’s a creative lab where students can build real-world skills and explore careers in culinary arts,” said BHCC’s Dean of Professional Studies, Austin Gilliland.
Special thanks to Chef Stefani Butella and Chef Ramzy Asmar for their work on this project. Visit the website for more information about the new program.
