Thursday, April 11, 2019

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) students Cam Do, Eva Montrond and Romina Gjacaj were honored among the highest academic achievers in the community college system at the 2019 All-Massachusetts Academic Team Recognition Ceremony at the Massachusetts State House on April 2, 2019. All three BHCC students were named to Phi Theta Kappa’s All-Massachusetts Academic Team. The event was co-sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society and the Coca-Cola Foundation.

Romina Gjacaj was this year’s New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, an honor for students who plan to enter the workforce upon graduation. She received a $1,250 scholarship.

Cam Do was one of 20 students nationally to be named to the All-USA Academic Team and will receive a $5,000 Scholarship. The All-USA program is widely recognized as the most prestigious academic honor for students attending associate degree-granting institutions. Do also received the New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar award and will receive a $2,250 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation. This award is an honor for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university. Earlier this month, Do received the 2019 Phi Theta Kappa Guistwhite Scholar for her academic achievement, leadership accomplishment and engagement in Phi Theta Kappa programs with a $5,000 scholarship. She was also recognized as one of seven Achieving the Dream (ATD) scholars in February and is a finalist in the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program.
