Welcome to the BHCC Library Lending Services Desk
What Do I Need to Check Out Physical Materials at the BHCC Library?
- Your student, faculty, or staff BHCC IDs is your library card! If you don’t have your BHCC ID on you when you come to the Library, a government-issued ID (physical or photocopy) can be used in place of it. If you don’t have identification to present, you will be instructed on how to access your virtual BHCC ID on your personal device or one of our public computers.
- Visit the Library or email us at bhcclibrary@bhcc.edu to activate your library card number (found on your BHCC ID) and get a PIN in order to unlock all of the features of your library card.
- If you are a distance/remote learner only, email bhcclibrary@bhcc.edu and we will send you a library card number and PIN. No BHCC ID required!
- If you’re not affiliated with BHCC, you can still borrow items from us. You will be issued a NOBLE library card if you don’t already have an existing account at another NOBLE library. If you have an account at another NOBLE library, it works at BHCC!

How Can I Borrow Items from Other Libraries?
As a BHCC or public patron, you have access to our Interlibrary Loan services.
Does the BHCC Library have fines?
- We do not charge late fines for items from our general collection. Our 2- and 3-hour loan items such as Course Reserves and Library of Things do have a fine of 10 cents per every 15 minutes late fine.
- Lost, long overdue, and damaged items will be fined to an account based on the cost of purchasing and processing a replacement item. Please email bhcclibrary@bhcc.edu if you have any issues with this cost. Fines on your library account do not prevent you from being able to access electronic resources such as those from databases. However, if your account has over $50 in fines you will be prevented from checking out physical materials at any NOBLE library.
