The Future Beacon Joint Admissions Program
The Future Beacons Joint Admissions partnership provides guided support and a seamless transfer experience to ensure a successful transition from your Associate degree at BHCC to your Bachelor degree at UMass Boston. Students will enjoy benefits such as:
- Advising from both BHCC and UMass Boston advisors to ensure your credits will transfer
- UMass Boston ID card with access to campus facilities
- Invitations to special events
- MassTransfer Cost Savings with a 3.0 or higher for any Associate degree
- Consideration for special Future Beacons merit scholarships
- Early course registration upon transfer to UMass Boston
Become a Future Beacon
- Schedule a virtual appointment with a UMass Boston Enrollment Counselor
- Current BHCC students can connect with a UMass Boston Enrollment Counselor every Monday and Thursday starting at 9 a.m. in Advising & LifeMap (Room N-211, Charlestown Campus).
- Check the visit schedule online for specific dates and times. No appointment is required, but we encourage you to register in advance to let us know you're coming!

Join representatives from UMass Boston and Bunker Hill Community College for an info session about the Future Beacon Joint Admissions Program—a unique opportunity for BHCC students planning to transfer to UMass Boston.
During this session, you’ll learn:

- The key benefits of being a Future Beacon
- What to expect as a participant
This program is designed for students who have earned fewer than 30 college credits toward their associate degree.
If you’ve already earned 30 or more credits, don’t worry—UMass Boston is still here to support your transfer journey! You’re encouraged to connect with a UMass Boston Transfer Enrollment Counselor, either in-person at BHCC or by scheduling an appointment online, to get help with transfer credit, admissions, and more.
