The Fresh Start policy allows students who have been away from BHCC for 5 or more years to re-enroll at BHCC without being held back by an old low GPA and/or low completion rate that might otherwise prevent them from graduating or completing their degree.
The Fresh Start policy only applies to academic standing.
All grades will be factored into students' financial aid eligibility.

Process to apply for Fresh Start
Email retention@bhcc.edu to request the form.
Deadline to submit Fresh Start form is the Friday before the semester in which you plan to return:
- Spring 2026 enrollment: Friday, January 23, 2026
- Summer 2026 enrollment: Friday, May 29, 2026
