Bunker Hill Community College Honors the Medical Imaging Class of 2025 at Annual Pinning Ceremony

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) proudly welcomed family, friends, faculty, and honored guests to its Charlestown Campus for the 2025 Medical Imaging Pinning Ceremony—an annual ceremony marking the transition from student to clinical professional.

Michelle Gagnon, professor, program director, and department chair of the Medical Imaging Program, opened the ceremony by acknowledging the hard work of 40 graduating students from Medical Radiography, Cardiac Sonography, and General Sonography programs. She emphasized the profession’s depth: “We are the eyes of the physician.”

With inspiring words from faculty and student representatives, the ceremony honored the dedication, resilience, and academic excellence of these future imaging technologists as they prepared to enter the healthcare field with professionalism, skill, and compassion.

Associate Professor and Program Director Manal Abdelhady introduced three words to describe the class values: “Integrity, Compassion, Resilience.” Professors Lynn Pelia and Erin Peterson emphasized the importance of overcoming life’s roadblocks and reminded graduates to serve as mentors for future students.

Closing out the ceremony, the graduates took the technologist pledge to uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and compassion in all diagnostic procedures.
