A Memorable Evening for the BHCC Student Scholars

Wednesday, October 23, 2019

On October 3, 2019, the BHCC Foundation Scholarship Dinner was held to celebrate the students receiving scholarships and the donors whose generosity made the scholarships possible.

President Pam Eddinger welcomed all the student scholars, the generous donors and the foundation board. The scholarship students shared dinner and conversation with their donors, foundation board members and guests.

This year, 50 BHCC students are receiving donor-funded scholarships totaling nearly $100,000. Many of these scholarships were established to honor the memory of loved ones and to create a lasting legacy. Other scholarships support students pursuing certain majors, such as criminal justice, business, education and nursing, and some are earmarked for residents of Charlestown and Chelsea.

As a capstone to the evening, President Eddinger announced that the first scholarship to be endowed at $1 million is the Judge J. John Fox Scholarship. Judge Fox‘s life and career exemplified his commitment to ensuring access to opportunities that enable success. Established through the generosity of his family and friends, the Fox Scholarship currently awards $1,000 per semester to 13 students.
