It’s #GivingTuesday! In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, BHCC would like to share just a few ways to help those in need.
This winter, the BHCC Foundation hopes to help BHCC students who are in need of transportation assistance to and from school. With the help of a local family foundation, every dollar contributed to the BHCC Foundation Student Transportation Assistance Challenge through December 31, 2017, will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000. You can donate online here—choose “Student Transportation Assistance” under “Designations.”
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support the Bunker Hill Community College Foundation. You’ll find the same shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to the BHCC Foundation. Learn more about AmazonSmile.
BHCC’s Single Stop office offers assistance to students facing economic barriers, like housing and food insecurity. If you have any shelf-stable food donations you’d like to contribute, bring them to the Single Stop Office (Room D206) where they may be picked up by a student in need. Learn more about Single Stop.
Each year, BHCC Campus Police collect new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Bring your donation to the cruiser on the main plaza on December 7. Toys for Tots donations will continue to be accepted through Friday, December 8, 2017. Please look for donation boxes around campus.
BHCC is partnering with the Chelsea Collaborative to collect new or like-new winter coats and school supplies for families who have relocated from Puerto Rico. Look for donation boxes at the Stuff a Cruiser event and around the Charlestown and Chelsea campuses starting next week. (More info to come!)
Thank you for helping to spread joy to those in need this holiday season!
