BHCC Foundation Annual Gala Funds Student Scholarships

Thursday, April 20, 2017

Emceed by WBUR’s Meghna Chakrabarti, host of Radio Boston, the Bunker Hill Community College Foundation hosted its 2017 Annual Gala on April 20, 2017, at RSM US LLP.

Celebrating its home in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and recognizing the enormous feats of its students, the theme of this year’s gala was “Monuments of Student Success.” The Bunker Hill Monument stands as a symbol of overcoming challenges and achieving a dream. A degree from BHCC is one of many steps on our students’ ascent to the top. Since 2014, every dollar raised at the BHCC Foundation annual gala has funded scholarships to cover financial need not met by other sources.

As always, the students were the stars of the evening. Music was performed by the BHCC Jazz Quintet, guests enjoyed a meal prepared by students in the Culinary Arts program and Foundation Scholars graduating this year were recognized for their enormous accomplishment. As part of the evening’s program, students were interviewed by Meghna Chakrabarti. They spoke about the challenges they had overcome and their dreams for the future. They also talked about the impact of the scholarship on their lives.
