Alcohol & Other Drug Use

Bunker Hill Community College recognizes the importance of creating a safe, healthy, and well-informed community. The college takes all matters relating to drug and alcohol abuse seriously per the student code of conduct, as well as any city, state, or federal ordinance pertaining to these areas over the campus. We also recognize the importance of educating our population of students, faculty, staff, and guests on available on-campus/off-campus drug and alcohol prevention and support programs.

Some studies suggest that students who use alcohol and marijuana less are more successful in school.  There are currently two programs available to students that help to provide personalized feedback about alcohol or marijuana use.  To get feedback about your alcohol use please visit Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO. To get feedback about your marijuana use please visit Marijuana eCHECKUP TO GO.

After reviewing your results you may contact a Personal Counselor if you would like information about available treatment resources in your area.

What is the eCHECKUP TO GO?

The Alcohol and Marijuana e-CHECKUP TO GO programs are anonymous, alcohol and marijuana-specific brief feedback tools designed to help college students take a look at their alcohol or marijuana use. The program takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, is self-guided, and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor.

What does it do?

When you access the e-CHECKUP TO GO, you will be prompted to enter information about yourself, such as your use of alcohol or marijuana, spending patterns, and other things. After all information has been entered, the e-CHECKUP TO GO calculates a number of variables and compares your responses to national and local college norms. Then, your personalized feedback is displayed in an easy-to-read format.

What does one need to use the eCHECKUP TO GO?

  • A computer
  • Internet access
  • A standards-compliant Internet Browser with JavaScript activated
  • 20-25 minutes to complete the survey
  • A printer (if you would like to print the feedback)
