The MLT program is a full-time, daytime program. It is 4 semesters long. Fall, Spring, Summer, and Fall 2. MLT courses must be completed in the time frame and sequence listed in the Curriculum. Pre-requisites to the program can be completed on a part-time basis.

Yes, however, students must first meet with their advisor.

The program begins in September. However, prerequisite courses and general education courses may be completed in advance.

The clinical practicum is scheduled for 16 weeks, 40 hours per week during daytime hours.

Students are placed at a site by the Department Chair. Students may request a particular site; however, accommodation of the request may depend upon several factors including site availability.

Yes, graduates of the program are eligible to take the CLT/MLT certification exam administered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification.

Students are directed toward websites specializing in job opportunities for Medical Laboratory Technicians by the Department Chair. Additional job search assistance, including resume writing, may be obtained in the Career Center at the Charlestown Campus

Note: Exceptional performance by the student during the Clinical Practicum, often lead to job offers.

Graduates have a 92% completion rate, an 88% pass rate on certification exams and a 100% employment rate.
