What is Commencement?
Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion or anticipated completion of degree requirements. Graduation is the actual completion of all degree requirements and is recorded on the official transcript. Participation in the commencement ceremony does not imply that you have officially graduated.

Students, who successfully complete program requirements by graduation date and who have submitted a graduation application, received communication from Academic Records that they are eligible to graduate.

Students who have 2 courses or fewer to complete in the summer must register for summer classes and submit the summer graduation application by the end of the day on April 30, if they want to participate in Commencement. The Academic Records Office will review the student’s record and send a communication to the student’s BHCC email when the review is complete.
The diploma will be mailed to the address that was included on the graduation application. An email will be sent to students’ BHCC email address when the final review of their account is completed. The email will include the date when the diploma will be mailed. *As long as your graduation application remains active, you can change the address listed. If you have questions about changing the address where your diploma will be mailed, email email@example.com.
Once you are cleared to participate in Commencement, you will receive an email to order your regalia (cap and gown). BHCC will cover the cost of the regalia. This is our Commencement gift to you.
The last day to order caps and gowns is TBA. You must be cleared for graduation to receive Cap and Gown reservation through your BHCC email.
