Explore the richness, beauty and complexity of the Spanish Language with BHCC's 2019-2020 Distinguished Artist and Scholar in Residence Rhina P. Espaillat as she reads selections of her translations of internationally acclaimed poet and artist Jimmy Valdez Osaku. The artist will be on hand to read his original works in Spanish, and discuss accompanying paintings featured in the ongoing BHCC exhibition Creative Exile. This event celebrates the 2021 International Translation Day, whose theme “Connecting Worlds,” was proposed by the American Translators' Association (ATA) and aims to deepen communication between people through the work of writers and translators worldwide.
