Transfer 101 - Selective Colleges

Each year, BHCC students are accepted to some of the most competitive colleges in the nation. But to get accepted, students need to take steps to challenge themselves and strategically plan. Students who maintain high academic achievement are encouraged to apply to selective institutions. This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring - Planning and Exploring - with emphasis on increasing your competitiveness for admissions. Topics will include searching for colleges, scholarships, co-curricular involvement, networking, and college transfer essays.

Selective College Week Debrief with Students

At the conclusion of Selective College Week students will have the opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable insights to make informed decisions about their college choices. Our facilitator will create an interactive environment where students can discuss their impressions, observations, and concerns related to the colleges they visited. We will also discuss actions steps students can take to increase their candidacy for selective admissions.

Are you about to graduate? Working on transfer applications? Join our Transfer Application Session! This workshop is designed to assist students in completing their four-year college applications. Facilitators will overview the entire application process, ensuring students have a clear understanding of the requirements and steps involved. Students may use this time to complete the Common Application or other college applications, write their transfer essay, collect application materials, and have individual concerns addressed.
